EDGE Wins Two ASLA Merit Awards
The EDGE Group has been honored with two Merit Awards from the Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for their work on the B.W. Cooper neighborhood in New Orleans, LA and the Riverview Neighborhood Redevelopment in Kingsport, TN.
The redevelopment plan for the 55-acre B.W. Cooper Neighborhood in New Orleans represents a transformation of an isolated place of poverty and crime into a vibrant neighborhood that is safe, attractive, sustainable and connected to the surrounding neighborhood. The B.W. Cooper neighborhood in one of the largest tax credit allocations in US history with $65 million in tax credits and a project cost of $120 million.
The Riverview Neighborhood Redevelopment Plan for the Kingsport, Tennessee Housing & Redevelopment Authority provided an urban redevelopment vision for two public housing projects in existing urban neighborhoods. The dilapidated and obsolete barracks-like buildings were isolated blighted areas in an otherwise healthy single-family neighborhood.
