EDGE joins Linden Green Line design team, bringing Columbus-based planning and landscape architecture expertise to a community-led 7-mile corridor.
EDGE is proud to be part of the design team for the Linden Green Line, a planned 58-acre, 7-mile linear park and trail corridor that will transform a former rail line into new public space for walking, biking, recreation, and neighborhood connection. The project is led by Columbus Recreation & Parks Department in partnership with WXY architecture + urban design, a national planning and urban design firm known for complex, community-driven projects.
EDGE is serving as the local planning and landscape architecture partner under WXY, providing on-the-ground presence and deep familiarity with Columbus neighborhoods, public processes, and park systems. This collaboration builds on an existing relationship between EDGE and WXY following work together on the Downtown Segment of the Glass City Riverwalk in Toledo.
“The Linden Green Line is an amazing opportunity to create a transformation public space for a series of communities which are sorely lacking in not just parks, but safe and equitable access to critical components of daily life: healthcare, schools, and community gathering hubs,” said Doug Boyer, EDGE Principal. “We are thrilled to get to apply our expertise alongside the City, WXY, and the Linden and Northland communities, listening closely, and helping translate community priorities into an achievable vision.”
Community engagement is already underway, with recent public meetings drawing strong turnout and meaningful dialogue from residents impacted by the corridor. Early project imagery reflects this engagement-first approach, documenting conversations, questions, and ideas that will directly inform the evolving design.
EDGE brings extensive experience working with Columbus Recreation and Parks on projects that balance neighborhood needs, ecological performance, and long-term stewardship. Recent work with the Department includes Warner Woods Park, Hauntz Park, Mason Run Park, Helsel Park, Willow Creek Park, West Franklinton Parks, and multiple segments of the Big Walnut Trail. EDGE also led the master plan for the Big Walnut Greenway as part of the RAPID5 initiative, shaping a regionally significant vision for trails, parks, and riverfront access. That local perspective will guide EDGE’s role on the Linden Green Line as the project moves from engagement to design.
The Linden Green Line consultant team, assembled by WXY and Columbus Recreation and Parks, includes Arcadis Engineering, EDGE, EP Ferris, James Lima Planning + Development, MurphyEpson, RAMA Consulting, Lawhon Associates, MAD Scientist Associates, Catalyst, and CTL.
