Best of Both Worlds: Visitors Experience Recreation & Conservation at Columbus Park
Supporting a Growing Community
As Northeast Columbus continues to expand, Warner Woods Park provides much-needed recreational and natural spaces for families, young professionals, and active seniors. Spanning 53 acres, the park blends traditional neighborhood park amenities with a preserved woodlands, open fields, and scenic meadows, ensuring a balance between recreation and conservation.
Spaces for Play & Exploration
The park offers a variety of recreational amenities designed to engage visitors of all ages. Soccer fields, pickleball courts, and a futsal court encourage team sports, while a pump track provides an exciting challenge for young cycling enthusiasts. Families can enjoy a large playground and nearby picnic areas, creating opportunities for both active play and relaxation.

Restoring Natural Landscapes
Once a drained wetland used for farming, the land has undergone a remarkable transformation. When the city acquired the property and ceased drainage maintenance, nature quickly reclaimed the area, restoring ephemeral wetlands within a few years. During design, our team prioritized conserving and enhancing the existing wetland and mature oak forest. In recognition of its ecological importance, 14.4 acres were designated as the Warner Woods Nature Preserve in 2024. This protected area features vernal pools that support thriving bio-diverse populations, including spring amphibians.
As visitors walk through the thriving woods and meadows along the pedestrian path and boardwalk, it is easy to forget that they are in the heart of a suburban neighborhood. Warner Woods Park offers the community a unique opportunity to experience wilderness and recreation side by side, minutes from their own front door.
